El curs té l’objectiu de sensibilitzar a la societat civil de Barcelona i catalana sobre la situació dels drets humans al món àrab des d’una visió no orientalista i allunyada de perspectives euro cèntriques. Comptarem amb la presència de ponents provinents de Palestina, Jordània i Líban que ens explicaran com és l’estat dels drets humans al seu país.

El curs tindrà 5 sessions, 4 individuals i una taula rodona. Es tractaran temes com: la situació general de violacions de drets humans que es viu al món àrab; el rol de la dona a Líban i la seva participació política; colonialisme i apartheid a Palestina i moviments de protesta a Egipte.

Programa:
Dimecres 17 d’abril
10:00 – 11:30 h → Introducció al món àrab amb Ghassan Saliba Zeghondi, president de l’Associació Catalunya-Liban, vicepresident del Comité Libanés por la Paz y la Solidaridad, president de la Fundació ACSAR.
Durant la sessió es donarà una visió global geoestratègica de la regió. S’explicarà la importància de la regió en un orden multipolar.

12:00 – 13:30 h → Women’s political participation in Lebanon: Challenges and recommendations with Nariman El-Chamaa, journalist, trainer, and social and political activist, from Tripoli – Lebanon.She currently works as a preparer and presenter for the “Eye on Tripoli and the North” program at Al-Rakeeb Media Group. She also works as a director and coordinator of community projects. And a freelance trainer in multiple fields such as women’s rights, leadership and advocacy, community organizing, nonviolent mediation, media visibility, integrated security, and self-care. She is also the founder and president of the “Donia for Sustainable Development” (NGO), through which she has worked on many community projects related to sustainable development goals. She is a member of the administrative body of the “National Health Authority”, and an active member in a number of development organizations and local and international networks.
Women face many obstacles that prevent their political participation or access to decision-making positions and prevent them from obtaining justice and equality. The source of these obstacles is social, cultural, political and economic. This requires interventions at several levels for the effective participation of women in Lebanon.

17:00 – 18:30 h → Stations in the history of Egypt, the heart of the Arab world in the 20th century with Mamdouh HABASHI, responsible for the organization of the “Cairo Conference”, the International Solidarity Action to support Resistance in Palestine and Iraq and against the corporate driven capitalist globalization; co-founder of the Egyptian Socialist Party; and writer.
From the most influential country in the Nasser era through the “Arab Spring” to the current state, a regime of a brutal military dictatorship remotely controlled by imperialism.
